About this property

Welcome to Glen Tavern Inn

Located at 134 N Mill St in Santa Paula, California, this Tudor-style inn combines historic charm with practical amenities in a genteel setting. The building itself has been appreciated by guests for its authentic early-20th-century architecture and thoughtful preservation, offering an atmosphere that blends vintage character with comfortable accommodations. Some rooms feature whirlpool tubs, adding a touch of relaxation to the otherwise low-key quarters.

Facilities at this 4.3-rated property include free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and free parking, alongside accessible features and a business center. While the inn is pet-friendly and provides room service, it does not offer breakfast, a pool, fitness center, or airport shuttle. Okay so… Glen Tavern Inn? Obsessed. The whole hotel feels like if “Practical Magic” and “American Horror Story” had a baby (in a good way). My room was cozy, the vibes were immaculate, and I may or may not have captured an orb on my phone. The staff was so sweet and the energy here is just different — like historic, spooky, and kinda glamorous at the same time. Definitely coming back with friends.

Such a cool vibe and experience. I have stayed here several times and it's always so cool. I love the restaurant located in the lobby, Enzo's. Great Italian food and large beer section. Santa Paula is a cute small town! Overall, this is a place you can't miss staying at!

We had a magically delicious and ghastly time at our stay here over the weekend. The host and hostess are quite lovely and engaging and worth your time to stop and chat with about the history of the hotel. I probably shouldn’t have brought my proton pack, because we didn’t spot any ghosts, but we did hear some mysterious erotic moaning from the room next door...

Nice place, cool decor, HUGE jetted tub, great shower water pressure. But, the bathroom was a step up (be careful not to trip!) & the mattress needed/had a bumpy topper on it that made the sheets pull off & felt like you were about to roll off. Also the blanket needs to be a few inches longer - my toes are still cold. We'll return when the opportunity arises, bringing in items to make it perfect.

This place RULES, been a huge fan since I first visited in 2020. It's rare to be able to stay in such a comfortable place that happens to be a beautiful historical landmark. Management has done a tremendous job of fusing its charm and spirit with cozy accommodations for guests. Enzo's, its restaurant, is great too. The filet, pear salad, pizza, everything I've had there is fantastic. I'm excited to get back out there and would say it's a must-visit for Southern California, so great.

We tripped over this lovely spot on our trip from MN to Carmel. It was pet friendly, a necessity for us, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, from front desk to restaurant server. The Italian inspired menu was delicious!

This is a stay That I will remember. I’ve stayed in 31 places this year and this one is at the top To start with, what a great location, 5-star service, lovely inn, and at a reasonable rate. It’s much more than that, though. While I was here, I felt relaxed, content, understood and cared for by the team, I became aware of what I had missed at chain hotels. Vacation is about restoring your soul in an environment where you feel safe. Glen Tavern inn has heart. It provides warmth in a chaotic world. Santa Paula is also a treat. It’s what you look for in a town. Nice architecture, things to do, pleasant people. Beautiful weather. Good food. If you’re going to visit anywhere in this general area try the Glen Tavern inn. You’ll love it And will will certainly be back.

As a 60-year-old architectural devotee with a lifelong passion for Craftsman design, Hunt & Burns, and early Los Angeles historic preservation, I can say—with complete sincerity—that my two-night stay at the Glen Tavern Inn was nothing short of magical. I brought my little schnauzer, Otto, for our weekend escape, and both of us were utterly charmed. From the moment I pulled up, I felt that familiar flutter I get whenever I’m in the presence of true architectural integrity. This building breathes history. Hunt & Burns’ fingerprints are everywhere—those lines, those proportions, that unmistakable 1911 character that modern developers simply cannot replicate. You can tell the owners deeply respect the original craftsmanship; the details are intact, the bones are honest, and the restoration choices feel thoughtfully restrained, not overwrought. My guest room had that perfect combination of vintage soul and modern comfort. Otto, who usually takes a day to warm up to new spaces, hopped right on the bed and fell asleep as if he’d been there a hundred times. I always trust a schnauzer’s instincts. I spent both mornings wandering the corridors, tracing the original woodwork with my fingertips and admiring the patina you just can’t fake. If you love the buildings of Pasadena, the early work of Greene & Greene, or any of the great turn-of-the-century designers of Southern California, this inn will make your heart swell. It’s an architectural time capsule—gracious, slightly mysterious, and wonderfully preserved. Dinner at Enzo’s was a delight (get the chicken piccata—trust me). The atmosphere reminded me of old Los Angeles supper rooms where conversation, character, and comfort mattered more than trends. The staff was gracious and accommodating—genuinely warm people who seem to appreciate that guests here aren’t just booking a room; they’re stepping into history. As Otto and I loaded up the car to head home, he sat down and refused to get in—his highest compliment. I felt the same way. We’ll absolutely be back. If you’re a lover of architecture, preservation, or the golden era of California design, this inn should be on your list. —Marjorie & Otto the Schnauzer
